Charles Shrem is an American entrepreneur and bitcoin advocate.
Charles Shrem IV is a bitcoin supporter and entrepreneur from the United States. He co-founded the now-defunct startup business BitInstant in 2011, and he is a founding member of the Bitcoin Foundation, having previously served as vice chairman. He was sentenced to two years in jail in December 2014 for assisting and abetting the operation of an unauthorized money-transmitting enterprise associated to the Silk Road bazaar. He got freed from jail sometime in June 2016. He joined Jaxx in 2017 as its director of business and community development. Later that year, he established the cryptocurrency advising firm CryptoIQ.
