Charles Hoskinson of Cardano responds to the ongoing Solana attack
Everyone has been stunned by the multi-million dollar hack of Solana. The occurrence has left many people speechless, but Cardano creator Charles Hoskinson has his own thoughts.
Hoskinson’s response wasn’t kind since Cardano and Solana are competitors in a never-ending contest to establish who is superior. He tweeted “Smart Contract Standards” along with a GIF of Star Trek: The Saga’s Captain Jean-Luc Picard making a face. He had his own objective remark about the whole situation.
As each of Cardano and Solana’s communities is well-established and robust, they never miss an opportunity to attack one another in the event of a setback. Supporters of Cardano used the assault, which cost millions of dollars, as a platform to vent their outrage at the attack.
In a nutshell, Solana’s assault
Since cryptocurrency is becoming more widely used, hackers have been working hard to get it and advance their skills in abusing various projects and consumers. Over the last year, the Solana ecosystem has been the target of many hackers, who have caused damages that total $1 billion.
According to reports, a large attack targeted many Solana addresses, and the private keys to many wallets were compromised. Users claim that their wallet assets were stolen without their knowledge, including more than $10 million worth of SOL, SPL, and other tokens. In light of the current onslaught, the numbers might be higher.
To steal SOL and SPL tokens from hot wallets, the attacker has prepared a significant private keys compromise. Owners of wallets like Phantom and Slope have been impacted, and the majority of targeted wallets have been inactive for more than six months. The precise cause of the exploit is yet unknown.
